stuffed animal conversion
I don't like the patchwork on this so much (from My Paper Crane), but I love the little face and googly eyes.

She's also got these neat fabric journals. You embroider or sew things on the pages.

Pillowcase skirt
I found this on Dollie Clothing. It's a pillowcase turned into a drawstring skirt.

I want to make one to wear on the beach. There are instructions on how to make one at Craftster and Get Crafty and Aesthetica Projects.

kitty dim sum
Using the leftovers from Foxy Woxy, I made my cat the wonton from Kitty Dim Sum in Knitty. I overestimated the amount of yarn I had the first time I tried it, so I had to unravel the whole damn thing and redo it tonight. It took a couple of hours and doesn't look quite how I thought it would, but it's still OK. My cat sniffed it once and promptly ignored it. My sister-in-law's cats like it, though. Between the two of them, they will probably destroy it within a week. Pictures to come.

WPA Posters
I bought some great cards last week at Lassen Volcan Park. They are reproductions of park posters made by the WPA during the depression (available here). There's an even more extensive archive at the Library of Congress.

Magnets #2
Another magnet idea that worked out well. I love the graphics from the Golden Gate Parks. You can find some good, high-resolution ones on the shop online part. I printed them out on nice paper and put sticky magnet sheet on the back (the ones for business cards are pretty cheap, but you could also just print it out on the magnet printer sheets they have now). They look very nice. You can, of course, use any artwork you want.

Magnets #1
(Another one from pre-craftlog days.) Like everyone else in the world, I have some of those marble magnets. The Martha incarnation is pretty good for instructions. My sister made everybody some for Christmas, and then brought the extra supplies for us to make some more. Picture to come.

gift tags
From the "steal graphics from the web and make something with them" file, I like the gift tags and stationary designs from iomoi. Now I only need to give in and get an eyelet setter.

kiddy graphics
I like the lots and lofs of old graphics on Tic Toc Toys. Elsewhere on the site, there is a free paint-by-number design. I've been on a paint-by-number kick lately, ever since I got a flaming squirrel one for donating to KQED.
